Present and Past Staff

David Donahue - Owner

Prior to starting my career as a book restorer twenty five years ago, I worked in the corporate world, where I was an analyst, problem solver and eventually senior management in a large manufacturing company. When I decided to reclaim my lost soul I went into selling rare books online.

Soon I realized I had more broken books than good ones and that I preferred fixing books to selling them.

I read just about everything, science fiction, fantasy books,  books on Naval actions in the Napoleonic wars, modern novels, and I collect books by Charles Bukowski and first edition Harry Potter.    I still read hardcover books, but also I use a Kindle, and most days I listen to to audiobooks while at work.  I collect 45 rpm records, mostly old blues, garage bands and soul music,

Since Covid, the shop has downsized and I am now the only one in the shop working. It’s nice and quiet and I get a lot of work done. I do all the work myself, so you are assured of working directly with me, the owner.
